Beginner Level Teacher Development Programme

Programme 2012 - 2013

This course is offered four times a year: three regular courses and one intensive course.

Dates:

Regular courses:

From the 5th de October to the 7th of December, 2012. Pre-enrollment deadline: 17th December.
From the 18th de January to the 22nd of March, 2013. Pre-enrollment deadline: 21st September.
From the 19th of April to the 21st of June, 2013. Pre-enrollment deadline: 5th April.

Intensive course*:

From the 1st of July to the 12th of July, 2013. Pre-booking deadline: 21st June

* Classes will take place from Monday to Friday and from 10.30am to 1.30pm

Course structure:

Theory

30 hours of taught classes divided in ten workshops of three hours each one.

Observation of classes

A minimum of 6 hours observation.

Teaching practice and feedback

Teaching practice:Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Trainee, in pairs groups, will go through three supervised sessions of hands-on teaching in a Beginner's Course. Attendance and participation is a requirement to successfully complete the course and receive certification. Please double-check your personal commitments and the programme's calendar, as no exemptions will be made.

Feedback:A feedback session by an Instituto Cervantes tutor will follow. The sessions will be stablished by Instituto Cervantes.

Candidates

Aimed at native or near-native speakers of Spanish educated to degree level interested in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.

Fee:

£400 / £360* students and language assistants.
